This open resource presents Ecogenia’s Climate Action Toolkit for Educators, designed to bring climate action from the field directly into school classrooms. Developed within the framework of the Mediterranean Youth in Action (MYA) programme, and supported by the Anna Lindh Foundation and the European Union, this toolkit reflects the organisation’s commitment to empowering young individuals to become catalysts for transformation and advocates for societal progress. Building on a series of dynamic, experiential schoolyard activities led by Eleni Antoniadou, the toolkit supports educators in delivering hands-on environmental activities that engage students actively in sustainability topics. It provides practical methodologies and interactive exercises focused on core subjects, including Reduce & Recycle, Reuse & Rethink Consumption, Soil & Composting, and Sustainable Mobility. Through these carefully structured activities, students are encouraged to connect learning with real life and take small steps towards more sustainable behaviors.

Youth and Climate Action: a small-scale study in Athens was developed by Ecogenia under its Athens Sustainability Workforce Booster Initiative (ASWoBI). ASWoBI empowered Athenian youth and young professionals to drive climate action through workshops, networking events, and a social media campaign.
Based on participant questionnaires, Ecogenia’s youth project leads created a white paper outlining young people’s perspectives on sustainability challenges and proposing actionable solutions for the Municipality of Athens. The initiative was implemented with the Municipality’s support as part of Bloomberg Philanthropies’ “Youth Climate Action Fund.”
The white paper is available in Greek.
Ecogenia is the 1st climate corps in Greece to mobilize youth in critical climate action. The organization empowers youth by providing them with skills-based training and paid opportunities to serve their country’s environment, while reinforcing local communities by leveraging human and other resources to build climate resilience on the ground.
